Pastor Carl Nielsen - Carl has served Bethel Lutheran Church since 1997.  He loves God and wants others to experience the peace that God desires for all people.  Blessed with a wonderful wife, Susan, and two children, 1 grandchild, and good health, he wants to be a blessing to others.  Serve Santa Maria began as an idea after Carl took some high school youth to a national youth event (38,000 kids and chaperones) in New Orleans, and has grown into something much greater than he could have imagined.

Dr. Warren Gabaree - Warren lives in Santa Maria and maintains a private dental practice in the city. He is a graduate of Villanova University and University of Maryland’s Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. He has also been very involved in other community efforts of community development including “Serving the Servant” and Salvation Army, Serve Santa Maria, and Royal Family Kids. He has always had a heart for our community.  He and his wife Gloria have lived in Santa Maria for 21 years.

Glenn Morris - Glenn leads the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce, the leading business service, economic development, and tourism promotion agency in Northern Santa Barbara County.  As a community leader, he has been involved in a number of local and national organizations working on issues ranging from access to the arts, improvement of local schools, and youth leadership development.  Professionally, Glenn serves on a number of local, regional, and national boards focused on business advocacy, economic development, workforce issues, and youth career preparation.   Personally, he enjoys engaging with fellow community members in efforts like Serve Santa Maria to improve the community in which he lives, works, and serves.

Glenn finds great joy in being a husband to Shana and father to Joshua (Amanda), Jessica, Samuel, and Sydney, and as grandfather to Kimberly, Penelope, and Charley!

Mark van de Kamp – Mark is the Public Information Manager for the City of Santa Maria, with 15 rewarding years so far serving our municipality. His varied City responsibilities include communications and budgeting. He earned a Master of Public Administration degree with highest honors from Cal-State Northridge, and a bachelor’s degree with two majors from UC Santa Barbara. He enjoys volunteering with Serve Santa Maria and is the board secretary. Mark believes in the importance of being encouraging and building others up.
